The Lerker, which is best known as a Ford Sierra has been purchased by one of our techs named Dave.  Unfortunately, few people remember the the US counter part that we have here, the Merkur XR4-Ti.

He is super excited about plans he has instore for this car.  Hillclimbs, circle track... just to name a few .

He currently has a stock LS1 and a Jericho transmission for the power house.  He's gone a little crazy by cutting out the firewall and making a well balanced chassis, but he's well on is way.

With the old engine removed and sold to a local race driver, the LS1 was ready to slip right in.  The engine will be pushed back behind the front axle and will require custom engine mounts.  The work has just begun.

Now the next step is to rebuild the firewall and clean up the extra wiring.

This shows the new location of the engine in the car.  The racing seat was installed to make sure there was enough room for the engine, headers and driver!
