This low mileage truck was brought to TW looking for a simple way to increase the horse power. Running stock at 314 h.p. at 370 ft/tq, it only seemed logical to upgrade to a cold air intake and new high performance muffler. The crew decided on installing a S&B cold air intake kit, 3 1/2" Magna Flow muffler and 3 1/2" tail pipe with a chrome pipe tip. To prove this was a success, dyno testing was done before and after the upgrade. To our amazement, the h.p. increased by 35 and over 400 ft/tq!

Here is the large restrictive OEM muffler. Notice the silencer flap inside the muffler. As the engine idles, the silencer flap swings down to lower sound. As the engine RPM and exhaust volume increases, the silencer flap opens to allow more exhaust thru.

The new 3 1/2" Magna Flow muffler is being installed along with the chrome tip. In the picture the exhaust system seems low because it is. The welder was in the middle of installing the hangers!
