This 1970 Scout custom restoration project was completed by Kenny's Rod Shop.  The project is absolutely beautiful and very well done. Great job to Kenny and the team!

The owner plans to drive it year round and not just on sunny days in the summer.   Its a beautiful custom Scout so might as well show it off and drive the hell out of it.  The Scout was brought to TW for a couple of minor things.  He wanted a tuneup and a once over before its let loose on the road.

The Scout was build on a Chevy Blazers' frame using the front and rear axels for starters.  The power plant picked out was a 383 Chevy with MSD fuel injection and a 350 turbo tranny.   Several unique modern features were added but with touches that keep it classic....  Take a look below.

At the customers request, a little more horsepower was needed plus you can't mistake the sound of a aftermarket cam.  A Comp Cam and springs was ordered thru Brian Tooley Racing.  The crew at TW also have there hands full, they are designing and building custom headers and engine mounts.  Since the frame is power coated, the frame cannot be cut or modified in anyway.

The engine fits but it will need the firewall modified slightly and custom motor mounts designed and installed.

After testing the fit of the engine, several issues are coming up.  Should the car drive accessory or the truck drive accessory be used?  In the truck kit, A/C pump is located closer to the engine which would eliminate frame modification.  There are several issues that will have to be discussed with the customer considering extra expense in modifications and aftermarket parts.

A engine support bracket was placed under the engine so the motor mounts can be designed and built.  The original frame mounts are welded on the frame and must be used since they already powdered coated.
