The E30 is a dedicated autocross/hillclimb car. With too much power and very little weight, it has become one of the most entertaining cars to watch or ride in at the races.

The Garrett GT3582r is a little large for a bottom mount, but we got it to fit. The Tial 44mm wastegate ends up within about a centimeter from the firewall, control arm and sway bar. If it were off slightly in any direction, it wouldn't have fit.

The big project this past winter was installing ABS from an 03 E46 M3 CSL. We also used the E46's master cylinder so that we had a place for the front and rear pressure sensors. It was a tight squeeze and we had to clearance the shock tower a smidgen, but it fit. Since the S52 intake manifold sits so close to the brake booster and master, we used a remote reservoir from a 2002 for the brake fluid. It worked great and all the parts needed were stock BMW pieces.

The E46 ABS pump and computer were mounted in the stock location as the original ABS. We made a custom bracket so that it even uses the stock mounting hardware that the original used. We saved templates and may make this piece available for sale. The last chore in getting the whole system working is the wiring. The wires needed have been located and marked. Ready to run wires and solder.

Lowering the car took our camber out of spec, so a camber kit was installed to bring it back.

The E30 posted first and second place at the 48th Annual Freezeout Hillclimb this past weekend. Here is the first place run at 1:37.397.

This is the second place run at 1:37.8.

Motor mounts broke so we decided to move on to solid aluminum mounts instead of the polyurethane mounts we were using.
