This car was brought to TW after sitting in another shop for over a year with no progress being made. The crew at TW installed the D-series motor and will work on designing a new custom front suspension. The front suspension will need to be specially designed to use new lower control arms, coil over springs and VW struts. This will result in correct camber position, more static caster for higher speed control plus the ability for larger brakes and more wheel options.
Here shows the old original rear brake rotor and calipers... soon it will have early 90's Acura Integra rear brake setup.
After a revision to the subframe we went a different route with the arms.
Over the summer, we acquired a Cnc plasma table to be able to cut whatever we will want. This is one of those items that we made!
The crew had to machine down the spindle to obtain a nice even surface to mate the two pieces. You can see where they welded the Acura hub assembly to the original brake mounts where the a arms are connected. They now have a bolt on solution with modern brakes technology.
Here is the completed rear brake assembly. The Acura hub assembly welded to the original Civic mounts.
The bushings for all the a-arm components have been replaced with bearings and adjustable hyme joints.
Custom mouting brackets were designed and built for these high end Koni adjustable shocks.
